Woke up to a spectacular sunrise.  Ten years ago on this date (05.05.05), we moved into our current apartment.   Life hasn't been a bed of roses but that makes me cherish the happy moments even more.

Tryphena's friend sent her a carton of mangoes from Myanmar.  She could've saved them all for her family.  Instead she was kind enough to travel all the way to my office to bring me two mangoes!  This lady is sweeter than those mangoes.

Shared a chilled slice of Durian Cappuccino Cake from Goodwood Park Hotel with Agnes.  We snuck to the rooftop to enjoy this.  Some day, after Agnes goes back to the US, I'll be glad we found time to share a slice of cake and a happy moment.

Wai Leng took me out for an early birthday celebration.  We went to My Dining Room at Suntec City Mall for an awesome dim sum lunch.  The roasted pork was to die for!  After that we hopped over to Cathay Photo at Marina Square, where I splurged on a new camera lens.  I was wondering if Leng was going chide me a little bit but she told me, "If this is what you want then go ahead and buy it."  No chiding, no questions asked.  She's a true BFF.

​好几个月前得知新上任的Global CEO 不好应付。所谓新官上任三把火，一接棒便将公司内阁重组，好几位高层惨遭遣散。他来新出席亚太会议，我每时每刻过得如履薄冰。但自上星期二“面圣”后，我反觉得他比上一位CEO更平易近人，许多事情他亲历亲为，让我如释重负。上星期的APAC Summit成了历来最轻松的一个会议。 

今早同事问：Busy times are over? 我答：Thankfully, yes! 同事笑: I can tell. I felt the craziness all week last week! 

纽约office 送来谢礼。意外的惊喜让我happy了整个上午。 

除了花还有小抱枕。抱枕上面的字句我非常喜欢。

MY FIVE MINUTES OF FAME

Went on location to shoot a short clip for a client today.  I played a kiasu Auntie.  Have absolutely no idea why I was casted in the role in the first place.  Perhaps because #iAMAuntie.

My co-workers came around in the beginning of the week to say they desperately needed folks in the office to cast in a SG50 clip.  I initially declined but then my co-workers whimpered "please please please", assured me I had no line to read and basically needed to "be dramatic".  

The project isn't some big time television commercial so no overwhelming casts and crew were involved.  We "actors" took care of our own make-up and wardrobe.  My character wore clothing with bold prints.  The crew consisted of one director and one camera man.  Our very own interns and staff who took up the parts of assistant director, production assistant, kalefe ...  Being on camera for the first time was very exciting.  The filming of my two scenes lasted about three hours as it took several re-takes to get it each right.  

Thoroughly enjoyed my first filming experience. I surprised myself by jumping right into character.  No camera-shyness, no awkwardness.  My co-workers felt I did quite well for a first-timer. *self pat on back*   I only hope the client is happy with the end product because I had so much fun making it!

雨天 | 午餐

公司里的“女儿” 向我撒娇，说好久没吃到我做的Mac 'n Cheese。说G 是女儿是因为某天她提及要给自己的父亲庆生，我好奇问她父亲的年龄。原来他比我小一岁，我心想：我有女儿的话，她会和G年纪差不多吧？ 

就做了简单的 Mac 'n Cheese。觉得有点 guilty，为了图方便所用的材料都是ready food。用罐头浓汤、罐头蘑菇、还有冷藏的mixed vegetable。 

只预备了3份，怎知其他的同事看到了Mac 'n Cheese觉得“似乎很好吃的样子”，也吵着要尝尝。外面下着雨，我们五、六人挤进 pantry 一口接一口地。看着大家吃得乐呼呼 我心里暖洋洋。

“女儿”自告奋勇弄的 double toasted ham and cheese sandwiches。 很美味！

OFFICE PARTY - OCT 2014

It's the perfect evening to have a rooftop party - and a great way to start off the long weekend.

I've been in this company for ten years now and this is the first time we're having a joint party with our sister company, who also happens to be our neighbour.  Our offices are divided by a glass wall.  Think I just heard Reagan's ghost:“If you seek peace, if you seek prosperity … tear down this wall!”  

I'm a little confused as to the theme of our party.  So, is the grass greener on the other side?  Or is the glass cleaner on the other side?

 It doesn't matter what the theme is really.  I'm here for the food.  Look at all these deep fried stuff!

Hullo, I think the people over here need more booze.  And one more glass of milk for me please! (hiccup)

Pampered by the bosses with flowers and hampers today.  It's Secretaries' Week.  Sweet!

TREATS FROM FRANCE: MACARONS AND MORE

I'm fat and I blame my boss.  I really do.  He keeps foiling my diet plans.  Last month, he lured me with macarons from Lenotre. 

Today he brought with him macarons from Macarons Gourmands, Fauchon crepe cookies, and a selection of canistrelli from Corsica.  This is too much!

What have I done to deserve this? :-)

OFFICE PARTY - CHRISTMAS 2013

Christmas celebration started at 5:30PM today.  Music, games, booze, simple food and a whole bunch of crazy people.
