DAY OUT: WITH FRIENDS FROM HK

A day out with Cindy and Anna who are spending a few days in Singapore.  I accompanied them to the Botanic Gardens.  They especially enjoyed the orchids.  The weather was hot.  Very hot.

For lunch, we went to Tiong Bahru Market.  Anna worked in Singapore years ago and stayed at the Copthorne Hotel.  She would often buy Bak Kut Teh for dinner from a coffee shop near the Market.  Today we went looking for said coffee shop but, as we already expected,  it was no longer there,

Phyllis and Catherine came to join us in th evening.  To satisfy Anna's craving for BKT, we had our dinner in Song Fa @ Chinatown Point.  Cindy originally wanted to eat chilli crab but she willingly went along with BKT.  I think that's real sweet of her.  I could tell that Phyllis was more than a little indignant with skipping the chilli crab altogether.

人生的下半场 | 英雄回归

Chilli Crab Kitchen is on IG.

DAY OUT: BOTANIC GARDENS AUGUST 2025

Went for a walk with Mas.  We met at the Napier MRT Station, and entered the gardens via the Tanglin Gate.

We visited the National Orchid Garden. Seniors above 60 years old pay only SGD 1.00 to enter. Mas is 58 - she paid SGD 5.00. There were countless species!  We took our time and lots of photos.

We exited via the Bukit Timah Gate and ate nasi lemak at Adam Road Hawker Centre. :)

It was a great workout.  By 1:45PM, Mas had clocked 12,471 steps!  I know we've left so much unexplored so I'll be back for sure.

CELEBRATING SG60

Celebrating our nation's 60th birthday on Aug 9, 2025. Mighty proud of what Singapore has achieved.
